FWIW at my institution, the most mega- #academia of academics, a #tenure track nursing job requires a PhD AND a state #nursing license and #BLS certification.
Many MD, PhDs here have long ago let their medical licenses and any life support certs lapse.

Even in #academicmedicine the #tenure track is dying. It's been flat if anything at my institution, and ~50% of tenured faculty are retirement eligible by 2030.
