Trade books can be found on many university press's lists, as UPs can publish for trade and academic markets. Many UPs have a regional trade list w/ books specific to their geographic location.

Some books might feature a gallery of images rather than having the images spread out through the text. Including a gallery is usually a strategic decision depending on the project, as galleries can affect production costs & affect the reader's navigation of the text.

Last week we covered what a book series is, so we're following that up by talking about series editors and what they do.

Book series are common among presses and play varying roles in their list of publications (depending on the press & the active series they have). Series are a great way to establish niches, revitalize topics, and make space for underrepresented voices.

Extended text is meant to provide a longer, more detailed description of complex figures when necessary. Unlike alt-text, which has a length limit, extended text can be as long as necessary to explain the figure in detail and its relevance to the manuscript. Extended text does not need to be included in the manuscript if the alt-text sufficiently describes the figure.
