This was a very well layed out explanation of how intentionally segregated America was & why. And how its effects are still with us in housing, schools, businesses, public services and more. #thecoloroflaw #richardrothstein #booksky

It was not forced. States enabled locals to set their own zoning. Locals could have chosen density. Instead they locked things in place and pushed single family on larger and larger lots with no mixed use. Tragic. Locals need to own their racist and classist and tragic mistakes

I hate ugly speech. I wish that we were more civil with each other. Unfortunately, #Project2025 is not about civility. It is about leveraging every outrage as a means to take more power from the people. Charlie Kirk is one of those outrages.

#TheColorOfLaw is a doozy. I think I have some “to do’s” after reading it.

Highly recommended reading. Will open your eyes on a few things you thought you knew what happened, but you were taught wrongly as was I.

“The Color of Law” by R Rothstein is scalding & blunt:

“Zoning thus has two faces. One face... attempted to keep African Americans out of white neighborhoods by making it difficult for lower-income families... to live in white neighborhoods.” @skcopeland.bsky.social

Instead, they endorsed and reinforced it, actively and aggressively."
