They were watching some sort of cop show about meth in the northeast starring a bunch of actors who can't dance although privately Han Ying thinks the actor who plays the little weasel man might be an exception, he moves his hips like someone trying to conceal their power.
For today's WIP Wednesday, I would like to submit a single sentence that was written into this fic as a gift for maybe 6 people tops.

the first shot's jiang xiaohai (zhang yu) eats unperturbedly as an entire out of control fight rages around him. this is in fact a long shot
okay i really don't know why i chose the SADDEST SHOT OF SHEN YI in all of s2 under the skin but. this is in fact, yes, a high angle. of him (played by tan jianci). being extremely miserable.
then i guess i just went for broke, because here's zhang kangle playing xiaoge in tibetan sea flower, lying curled in the fetal positiion in the snow (idk maybe it's a crane shot but that wasn't in their study material)

It’s late and Gu Yiran is brushing his teeth and trying not to spit foam everywhere as he explains for like the fifth time the difference between ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, which Zheng Bei surely by now understands. But when he looks up from the sink to see if it’s making any difference this time, Zheng Bei is leaning against the bathroom wall just watching him, not listening to a single fucking word he’s said. Gu Yiran is fully prepared to be annoyed but can feel Zheng Bei’s eyes on him like a physical thing, dark and hot and filled with significance. That’s—is he really—he would? Again? “If you wanted,” Zheng Bei says, simply, lifting one shoulder as if to say how unimportant it is to him, whether Gu Yiran says great or no thanks. If Gu Yiran hadn’t started to learn his expressions by now, he might have fallen for it, too. That studied casualness. But Gu Yiran knows him a little better, these days, and he can see it behind Zheng Bei’s eyes: the raw hunger. What he really wants. It rises up in him again but this time with a clamor, a spike of need so intense his chest constricts with it. He should say no. He should focus on all the many things wrong with this, he should be friendly but firm, but instead all he can think about is Zheng Bei panting into his mouth and coming all over his hand, and he wants that again. “Okay,” is as much as he can get out, aware of his own pulse beating in his temples. He puts his toothbrush away, carefully. Zheng Bei says something hasty about brushing his own teeth, and Gu Yiran doesn’t bother responding, just beelines for Zheng Bei’s bedroom, where he starts undressing so fast it’s probably embarrassing.
