The 4 large glowing tubes on the left are the power tubes. They need about 20 minutes to warm up before playing any music. The sound is thin and cold until the tubes are fully warm.
The round silver tops are the large transformers kept separate to reduce the tube noise floor. The two lighted tubes in the middle send power to the left/right speakers. The smaller tube between them powers the internal preamplifier.
Changing out the tube sets from different manufactures changes the sound of the unit. All the tubes you see are from the mid 1950's and mid 1960's.
As daylight turns into darkness, the soft orange glow of vacuum tubes start to shine.
