Full details follow: On Tuesday, January 27, we’re rallying at the State House for a Make Polluters Pay Action Day to use the power of storytelling and photography to call on the Maine Legislature to act on the climate crisis. This year, Maine has a unique opportunity to pass groundbreaking legislation that would help protect our towns, cities, and environment from climate impacts for years to come. The Maine Climate Superfund Act, one of our carryover priorities from the first half of the 132nd Legislature, would send a bill to the world’s largest polluters, like Exxon and Shell, for the damage they’ve caused to Maine through climate change, and use the money to fund climate adaptation projects. On Tuesday, January 27, from 8:30am - 11am, we’ll be co-hosting a live, pop-up art gallery at the State House in Augusta to share our personal experiences with climate change, illustrate its devastating impact on our communities and environment, and call on the Maine Legislature to pass the Maine Climate Superfund Act.
