I take a deep breath, fighting down the tears. Wulbren has always been prone to those outbreaks, but ever since he joined the Ironhand Gnomes, those have only gotten more frequent. It had gotten so bad that the two of us decided to take a break from our relationships and just be friends for a while.

Well… Wulbren had decided, really.

After that, we'd completely lost contact, though, and now that I finally found him again, he seems like an entirely different person.

It pains me to see him so changed, but he's still my friend. And, truth be told, part of me still loves him.

Dammon, the tiefling weaponsmith I'd nurtured a tentative friendship with, steps closer to Wulbren, seemingly not ready to stop the argument. But before I can do anything to try and smooth things over, the door to the Inn opens again, and one of the adventurers returns, taking the pressure off our conversation.

But just as I turn to take a stroll along the lakeshore, I feel a warm hand on my shoulder.

"Wanna talk about it?"

Dammon's voice, soft, gentle, caring in a way that brings tears to my eyes.

"I…" I begin, but trail off. Dammon is a stranger, one I've had fun with as we tinkered with ideas for an infernal engine. A fix for a friend, one of the adventurers. But part of me still doesn't want to lay my heart bare again for fear of getting it bruised further.

"It's nothing, really," I mumble, turning my head to smile at him over my shoulder.

"Your face says otherwise," Dammon frowns and tilts his head.

"Ah, magga cammara," I chuckle, wiping away a single tear that escaped. "Wulbren always said I was a terrible liar."

TinkerForge - ein Blick auf den Brick In vergangenen Blog-Posts haben wir immer wieder mal den Fokus auf TinkerForge gelegt und dabei besonders die Modularität des Produktes herausgehoben. Doch wie sieht die Modularität im Detail aus? Was macht diese Bricks so einzigartig und dennoch so vielseitig? TinkerForge setzt schon seit Beginn an auf Modularität – das heißt bei Ihren Produkten vor allem, dass Bauteile schnell und einfach untereinander austauschbar sein sollten. Dies wird vor allem durch folgende Merkmale gewährleistet: Es kann ohne Elektronikkenntnisse mit dem Baukastensystem gearbeitet werden Das Verbinden der einzelnen Komponenten durch Löten ist nicht notwendig Standardisierte Größen der Bricks und Bricklets Bricks sind stapelbar und kommunizieren untereinander über einen Bus Bricklets werden mit standardisierten Kabeln mit den Bricks verbunden Externe Verbindungen werden über Standard-Anschlüsse realisiert, z. B. USB in verschiedenen Ausführungen, Ethernet mit RJ45 oder WLAN Es werden standardisierte Mountings angeboten, z. B. in Form von Montageplatten, Gehäusen und Schraubelementen Die Bricks haben ein Grundmaß von 40 x 40 mm und unterscheiden sich nur in der Höhe. Dies stellt jedoch kein Problem dar, da man mit den Schraubelementen unterschiedliche Höhen recht einfach überbrücken kann. Ausnahmen machen hier nur Spezial-Bauteile wie Touch-Displays. Neu im Shop: RackMonitoring Kits von TinkerForge Ab heute können sich unsere Kunden über einen neuen Hersteller bei uns im Shop freuen: Zur Überwachung von Serverräumen bieten wir nun zwei RackMonitoring Kits aus dem Hause TinkerForge an. TinkerForge ist ein mittelständisches Unternehmen aus Ostwestfalen-Lippe, das Mikrocontrollerbausteine herstellt, die sogenannten Bricks. Die Idee zu diesen Bricks hatten die beiden Gründer Bastian Nordmeyer und Olaf Lüke, nachdem sie – auf der Suche nach Mikrocontrollermodulen für autonome Fußballroboter – keine offenen, mit verschiedenen Programmiersprachen ansteuerbaren Bauteile gefunden haben. Was 2011 noch mit einer kleinen Produktlinie begann, ist nun ein extensiver Katalog an Controllern und Modulen, die sich in zahlreichen Programmiersprachen ansteuern lassen, und sich durch ihre modulare Bauweise schier endlos verknüpfen lassen. In enger Zusammenarbeit wurden nun zwei RackMonitoring Kits erstellt, die vor allem Kunden mit individuellen Ansprüchen gerecht werden. Aufgrund der hohen Modularität der einzelnen Komponenten lassen sich TinkerForge Produkte immer wieder neu zusammensetzen. TinkerForge-Basteln Teil 1: Auspacken und Einrichten! Um meine neuerworbenen Kenntnisse in C++ zu vertiefen, habe ich netterweise etwas äußerst Interessantes auf den Tisch gestellt bekommen. Einen kleinen Karton mit mehreren Elektronikbauteilen, noch in ihren Antistatikbeuteln. (Meine Vorfreude steigt ins Unermessliche.) Worum geht’s? TinkerForge ist ein mittelständisches Unternehmen aus Ostwestfalen-Lippe, welches Mikrocontrollerbausteine herstellt, die sogenannten Bricks.
