A large kigata for producing a pine and turtle design.
A large sweet used for celebrations. It is vibrantly painted (the pine, crane and turtle are all fortuitous symbols of long life).
A mould for New Year, showing a shrimp which is a common motif in decorations around the turning of the year.
Moulds for blossoms (plum and cherry).
As the bigger sweets were intended for display they typically featured auspicious motifs, such as cranes, pines and turtles.
When finished the 'sculptures' were often coloured with edible paint to enhance the designs🎨🖌️
