I see a lot of accounts advocating for public transit, but not from the point-of-view of someone completely dependent on public transit (because of disability, low income, and/or other reasons.) I am that person and I want to fill this gap.
I want to use this political and educational account to advocate for public transit access as a basic human right. I'm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. But this advocacy is important everywhere in the US, where public transit has been sidelined in favor of car infrastructure.
I talk about disability access, financial access, impacts of policy, facts, history, and other things related to advocating for equitable public transit. I document my experience as a full-time transit rider, with a combination of investigative posts/reels and more light/fun content in between.
That's it! I hope you enjoy this account and find it educational and helpful. If you want, leave a comment with your thoughts on riding public transit and what questions you think I should explore!
What is the purpose of this account? I'm documenting my experience to advocate for #TransitEquity! 🚎
