Queen Mary’s Tree, Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire. Named after Mary Queen of Scots, who is reputed to have planted the tree in 1561 while visiting Cumbernauld Castle, the family home of one of her ladies-in-waiting. Nominated for Scotland's #TreeOfTheYear in 2014, it's a #ThickTrunkTuesday belter!
