This #FossilFriday is brought to you from the #Ediacaran of #InnerMeadow with the observation that #Charnia brasieri sometimes have #Trepassia like little feathers on top of their fronds. Part of a review paper coming out next week on life attitude of rangeomorphs :-).

This will be my last #FossilFriday of the year. I’m going to try to tune out as much as possible now to make the most of the rest of this year with family.

While i love the summer fieldwork, time in the winter to photograph and work on #fossil replicas made in the field this last season is pretty wonderful too.

Here in Newfoundland & Labrador we are celebrating Tibb’s Eve today. So, building on the interest in last #FossilFriday #Trepassia, here is a really tiny one from the #Ediacaran of Newfoundland. The detail is amazing, it’s about 3cm long.

for #FossilFriday here is a small #Trepassia from the #Ediacaran of Newfoundland. This is a very rare small specimen, most are 2m or so in length. Trepassia belongs in the #Rangeomorpha an extinct clade of fractal-like early complex macroorganisms
