So far I have liked what I have seen from the #truenas project. They haven’t been afraid to take big decisions they feel are right for the project (see also: virtualization). But they also seem open to listening to the community and changing course when needed.

So I stood up a Mattermost instance for customer notifications. TrueNAS made it simple, and my Virtualmin+NetBird setup makes it easy to expose it to the world. I'll probably keep this setup until TrueNAS gets generic webhook alert support.

Took me three days to get Matter over Thread working on my #HomeAssistant. Bought a #ZBT-2 but sent it back, because it didn't work and bought a #Sonoff MG24. But it was the fault of the VM where HA was running in on my #TrueNAS server. Virtual NIC's don't play well with ipv6. (1/2)
