Tightening the Noose of Compliance This morning, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and CIA Director John Ratcliffe announced that intelligence sharing with Ukraine has been temporarily paused ... both officials openly suggested that the pause may be short-lived if the President can be satisfied that Ukraine has taken positive steps towards negotiations for peace. The US had been sharing details on Russian military maneuvers along with intercepted communications about planned attacks and spy locations ... vital intelligence strengthening Ukraine's ability to protect its cities and launch effective counter measures and offensives Trump had already paused shipment of all military aid to Ukraine .. halted $1 billion in arms and ammunition that's already been ordered or in production ... and rescinded funds tied to the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, that Ukraine uses to buy gear directly from American defense firms ... not to mention eliminating the USAID lifesaving humanitarian assistance to repair their power grid, etc. Just a negotiation tactic? ... Simply encouraging compliance? Blatant coercion? ... or an outright violation of the 1994 Trilateral Statement and Budapest Memorandum to provide economic support and security assurances to Ukraine.
