The list of cool #FOSS things I'm make use of continues to grow. I now have #UnifiedPush working on my server - notifications on my phone (for some apps) working without the interference big tech.

I've lost my push notifications counter for Molly while fixing a bug. It had risen to 12000
Now my highest counter is for Element-X with 2500 push notifs
I find these numbers a bit dizzying. I wouldn't imagine we rely on them that much

I didn't know it was possible to find out approximately how many Nextcloud servers were using NextPush: around 6700!
There might be some duplicates: we can see the number of downloads per releases

Conversations (via #UnifiedPush) is the backbone that gives #Matrix its reliable and timely notifications. An eventually consistent graph database is a nice concept, but it takes #XMPP to put the real-time into real-time communications.

As I use #Conversations #XMPP client to chat with my family I configured it to be also an #UnifiedPush distributor.
This reuses the already existing XMPP connection to also serve other android apps for push messages.
On server side I used #ejabberd community module `mod_unified_push`.

#UnifiedPush is great. I finally set it up and now I get Mastodon and Matrix push notifications despite going through F-Droid.
And now I can mute them again because only 1-1 Signal conversation and a limited number of groups can justify interrupting me at anytime of the day 😅 .
