About the Situation The Trump Administration cut nearly $49 million in federal funding from the National CASA/GAL Association. CASA volunteers are crucial voices for foster youth, helping ensure they are protected in the legal system. Without funding, thousands of vulnerable children risk losing representation in court.

What is happening? Across the United States, abused and neglected children depend on CASA volunteers to advocate for their safety and futures. But now, critical funding has been stripped away. Putting thousands of vulnerable lives at risk!
What is it? CASA stands for Court-Appointed Special Advocates for Children. These are volunteers who speak up for abused & neglected children in court. “Without my CASA, I wouldn't have gotten any say at all in the court system. She advocated for me when nobody else did. Not even my case manager advocated for me the way she did.” -Blaine

Pacific Islander Who They Are: People from Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia (e.g., Samoa, Guam, Fiji, Tonga). Did You Know? Pacific Islanders are often underrepresented in media and policy. Their culture is steeped in oral traditions, tattooing, and connections to the land. Many face challenges like climate displacement and health disparities. Why It Matters: Amplifying Pacific Islander voices is essential for true representation and understanding of their powerful traditions.
