Fort Defiance's Maecy Ann Frizzelle, a Bridgewater College commit, is the Shenandoah District Volleyball Player of the Year. FDHS head coach Amber Pitsenbarger is Coach of the Year. Indians host Madison County in the Region 2B semifinals on Thursday. #VHSL
Turner Ashby's Bella Schultz has been named the Valley District Volleyball Player of the Year and Knights head coach Brandi Baylor is the league's Coach of the Year. TA hosts Wilson Memorial in the Region 3C quarterfinals on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. #VHSL

#VHSL Girls Cross Country, Region 1B Championship:
Luray wins regional title and Riverheads places third, with both earning team berths in the state meet.
Bulldogs led by Briana Plum (4th) and Isabela Rizek (5th), while Gladiators led by Verity Jordan (3rd).
#VHSL Boys Cross Country, Region 1B Championship:
Riverheads advancing to state meet as a team, led by Sam Ashby (9th), Jack Young (15th), Cooper Boyd (18th) and Sam Jarvis (23rd).
Buffalo Gap's Noah Lilly (12th) and Luray's Max Banks (13th) also advanced as individuals.

#VHSL Volleyball Final: Broadway 3, Harrisonburg 0. Clara Denman with 10 kills, seven digs and three blocks for the Gobblers, while Mattie Chupp had five kills, six digs and seven aces. Mady Ennis with 12 assists, while Taylor Long had 10 assists and Jamie Lunn totaled 11 digs.
#VHSL Volleyball Final: Wilson Memorial 3, Alleghany 2. Estee Irving with 13 kills and 14 digs to lead the Green Hornets, while Nataliee Chandler and Maddie Lawhorn had 20 assists apiece and AJ Hedrick added 10 kills. Maggie Parrott and Harper Tibbs combined for 14 kills.
#VHSL Volleyball Final, Bull Run District SF: No. 1 Clarke County 3, No. 4 Luray 2. Isabel Aliveto had a monster night, slapping down 29 kills for the Eagles, while Jillian Emmart dished out 52 assists and Gracie Brown added 21 digs. Bryn Franzen with three aces and two blocks.
#VHSL Volleyball Final, Bull Run District SF: No. 3 Central 3, No. 2 Madison County 0. Caroline Eye with 40 assists, while Hadley Witherow had 13 kills and 18 digs. Carsyn Burton with 15 kills and 15 digs. Falcons win sixth in a row and are headed to district championship.
