Whereas, Imagine a Day Without Water is recognized annually across the country to highlight the value of water in our lives and communities by visualizing the disruption in daily life without it; and
Whereas, Prince William County is a community of choice where individuals, families and businesses choose to live, work and play; and
Whereas, water is essential for community health, local economies, public safety and the environment; and
Whereas, Prince William Water works in partnership with Prince William County Government as well as other utilities and organizations to ensure that our community has access to clean, safe drinking water; and
Whereas, Prince William Water serves the Prince William County community by managing $1.2 billion in reliable infrastructure, delivering nearly 12 billion gallons of drinking water per year and reclaiming over 10 billion gallons of wastewater per year; and
Whereas, Prince William Water promotes the protection of our environment and our precious natural resources through public education and awareness; and
Whereas, sustainable water and wastewater systems build stronger communities by supporting economic growth, protecting public health and enhancing environmental resilience;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Prince William Board of County Supervisors affirms that water is essential to our community’s quality of life, economic strength and public health, and supports efforts to raise awareness about the value of water through participation in “Imagine a Day Without Water” on October 16, 2025.
Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
It is now official! By proclamation of the Board of County Supervisors, October 16th 2025 shall henceforth be known in Prince William County as "Imagine A Day Without Water"! This day is meant to encourage reflection on the value of water.
