Cool. Finally did a DX check in to Varac Wednesday. Sent email from a station in Germany. Most of the time I'm only reaching less than 1,000 miles a couple states away.

It's pretty cool that, with this setup and a length of wire hanging out my upstairs window, I can chat with people all over Europe. No internet, no mobile phone.

Has anyone found any good updates to installing VarAC? Seems that I get it running a while, then it quits and I have to install again. Are there any updated guides newer than this?
