I've been enjoying everyone's indoor chilli starting setups, so I thought I would share my own. I've adapted a grow tent with some foil insulation, automated grow lights, heat mats and fans with propagators help create a few separate temp 'zones'. #Gardening #VegetableGrowing #GrowYourOwn 🌶️🌱

🍅 Pulled the trigger on my 2026 Tomato season by sowing some seeds tonight.

I’ve been holding off about 2w later than last year as my plants got way too tall before I could plant them out in 2025.

One tray of taller types, the another cherries.

🥬 The Lettuce that I’ve been overwintering inside the Greenhouse has all started to bulk out in the past couple of weeks 😘

Mighty pleased that so much survived - far more than I had anticipated - so I have a March glut ☺️

These’ll bolt soon.

🌶️ This tray contains yet more Chinense varieties, but generally at the slightly cooler end of the SHU range.

By growing two plants of each variety I’ll always have a spare, just in case 🤞

🌶️ Thought I’d do a show-and-tell 🧵 featuring some trays of Chilli plants at their early March size.

These are part of my Chinense range. I’ve two plants of each variety.

Dowding opens his “How to Grow Celeriac” video with quite a daunting statement: “Celeriac is not an easy vegetable to grow.”

Fortunately I have managed it before 😮‍💨 though this was a few years ago, back in 2021.

This year I’m only growing a handful.

Comparing our techniques, he noted seeds need light whereas I covered mine lightly with compost. Oops 🫢

But we both multi-sowed then transplanted ☺️

🌶️ Decided that it’s time to start potting up some of my early January sown Chilli plants as they’re starting to crowd and shade each other now.

A few went into taller pots, along with some others from another tray that have been growing fast.

🥔 I tend to leave my potatoes in the ground until I need them - any leftovers then sprout in Spring - and that includes buckets that I’ve stored in the garage over Winter.

Just cracked open a couple to score some fresh garden spuds in February ☺️

A much more recently germinating plant is in the bottom-right corner, the same variety, but this time with the same darker colour for its cotyledons.

🌶️ Rather to my surprise, my 🫑 have been very slow to germinate this year 🤔 They’ve only just started erupting after ~2w, despite identical conditions.
