Third set of googly eyes we found (out of 6 sets). They were created by Collectif Pierre&Marie. The set is called Big Other, and is meant to remind us of “Big Brother is watching you,” a nod to social media surveillance tracking our every move…

“Kraken Crossing” by Filthy Luker and Pedro Estrellas. Tells a story of the Boston Harbor Kraken who has to hide out in a warm building until the Harbor thaws and he can escape back into the water. ‼️

“Artificial Humans” by Atelier Haute Cuisine, artists from Belgium who are experts with various semi-transparent materials that can be illuminated. These figures glow at night! They got the idea from feeding parameters to an AI generator.

“The Word on the Street” by Scott Froschauer. Replaces regular street signs (Stop, Do Not Enter, etc) with positive affirmations. This one lights up at night. You can also look for “Yield” (in a fancy heart design), Breathe, “All We Have is Now,” and “You Are Enough.”

The 3rd annual edition of “Winteractive,” a contemporary street art exhibit, Jan. 14-Mar. 29. We printed out the map and then ran around like 5-year olds loose in a big playground, trying to find as many as possible. First find: googly eyes on the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. (There are 6 sets of googly eyes to find in all).👀

Second set (out of 6 in all) googly eyes we found. These were on the side of the famous Brattle Book shop. The Brattle’s book stalls mural isn’t part of “Winteractive,” it’s an “extra!”

Along the side of Macy’s is the painting “Walruses on the Rings of Saturn” by Robert Peters. By the way, do you see the blue box at the far right of the photo? Each art piece has one which provides the name and description of the art, map, QR code, etc.

e/motion is the name of several sets of seesaws anyone can try. This installation was by Olivier Landreville. Notice the big see-through tube in the center? It is filled with glowing liquid that mimics ocean waves. Yes, husband and I tried one. Yes, I have 15-seconds of video of him on it. No, I won’t let you see it.

They are really nicely designed and constructed, industrial from a distance, while presenting touches close up that are worthy of a visit. 🔥

Mixed feelings about seeing this little #bumblebee today. probably from a #winteractive nest. Probably a worker, She’s a bit small for a queen. I have never seen a #bee feed on #cyclamen! she moved to #mahonia& #hellebores in quick succession! No #floralconstancy. It was a delight hear her #buzz
