What does WSIB hand over billions to our bosses while injured workers live in poverty? 2. Why are migrant workers kicked out of the country and cut off benefits when they are hurt? 3. Why can WSIB pretend I’m employed when I can’t find a job, and take my benefits away? 4. Why can WSIB get away with creating so much stress and mental health problems for injured workers? 5. Why are employers able to get away with breaking the law by lying, hiding, and suppressing our claims? 6. Why are taxpayers shouldering the burden when injured workers have been denied or deemed by the WSIB? 7. Why do WSIB benefits expire at age 65, even though we know many workers in Ontario have to work beyond that age? 8. Why is WSIB putting the burden of work injury so heavily on families? Why are they stealing Christmas from our kids? And four more questions.
We have some questions for the #WSIB and Minister of Labour. Help us deliver them this Monday.

When you are off work due to a work injury, you are not contributing to your work pension (if you have one) or CPP. The younger you are injured, the less you have contributed which adds to the poverty experienced at 65 when your #WSIB benefits end. An injury for life should mean benefits for life.
Injured Workers and Advocates Denounce Discriminatory #WSIB Age Cut-Off ending benefits at 65 regardless of how long you planned to work. Injuries suddenly don't disappear when you turn 65 which means many injured workers face poverty as they get older.

Just saw a #WSIB ad saying "In uncertain Ontario business deserve some certainty" then goes on to say the govt is giving business a $2 billion rebate. I guess they never heard of the uncertainty that comes w/a work injury. Where is the help for injured workers? It's being given back to employers.
