An advertising graphic. In the background is a luminescent blue, pink, and purple D20 die. The top text reads "WLA Special Libraries"; the next line says "Game Night!" The main paragraph says "Join us for an entertaining evening with guests from the Alexandria jRPG Library and hear about ulibrary hosted tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGS) in Washington at our next quarterly meeting."

Next to the D20 die is the meeting info: "November 20th, 6-7pm, On Zoom."

A screenshot of an email. It has the previous graphic in this post as well as the email text. It reads:

"Hello Special Libraries Division Membership and Guests!

This Wednesday evening is our annual holiday (ish) meeting that typically focuses on a in-person or virtual tour however, this month’s focus is on a Special Library that is more portable than most and I first learned about our special library guest speaker at PAX West earlier this year.

If you’re not familiar with this gaming conference – it takes over three buildings of the Seattle Convention Center! Situated in front of a large schedule of gaming events that day, David Carnahan told me about the Alexandria RPG Lending Library and he is our special guest this Wednesday at 6pm! Come sign in with your favorite beverage &/or snack, bring your best character strengths and listen to his story about a wonderful lending library of game related books and role-playing gaming events designed to help seniors, veterans, and at-risk youth.

This will be a casual, but festive event. Also joining us is Chazlyn Lovely, from the Upper Skagit Library, and staff from the Washington State Library who will share how role-playing games are popping up in libraries across the state.

We’re also inviting people to share their avatars, character strengths and favorite games hosted in local libraries. And there will be door prizes so please share with others who may be interested in WLA & the Special Libraries Division!"

If the weather holds (we've currently got a "bomb cyclone" hovering over my area) tomorrow I'm attending the #WashingtonStateLibrary #SpecialLibrariesDivision meeting! I'm not the main guest, but I was invited because our library is somewhat well-known for our investment in D&D and TTRPGs!

A photo of the Everett Public Library Main Branch sign. The digital reader below it says Wednesday September 11 5:26pm, 64 degrees. At the bottom of the sign is an ad for Tabby's coffee. The sky behind the sign is blue and clear and a building rises up behind the sign.

A photo of a whiteboard with a large amount of blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink post it notes placed on it. Above the post it notes written in sharpie is "As a game master I will..."

A photo of a Critical Core character sheet for a Dragonborn Druid. It is sitting on a Critical Core module notebook. A full set of D&D style dice are lined up next to the sheet and a to-go coffee cup.

A photo of three librarians in front of a giant set of books: on the far left is a white man with long blonde hair and glasses; in the middle is the camerawoman - a white woman with long green hair and glasses - holding her arms out to frame the shot; and on the right is a white woman with long blonde hair. They are all smiling at the camera.

Had a great time doing a #WashingtonStateLibrary & #GameToGrow #TTRPG training today. Fun to be a part of this #RPGsInLibraries movement with fellow librarians and to get to give the #CriticalCore system a try after only playing #DungeonsAndDragons 5E so far. Got some new ideas to try w/ my teens!
