9 completed "rounds" of oval rug. Black inner, grey outer. Cream cotton securing it
It was time to clear out some old t-shirts. Rather than stick them in the rag bag I've turned them into yarn. 🧶
I dug out some cotton DK in my stash so I've started on a rag rug.
No pattern, just working out the increases as I go

Rare earth magnets glued to weak ass fridge magnets.
Test. Metal Legionaries not falling off even at an angle.
Metal cavalry needed two rare Earth magnets to not fall off, but anyone letting my figures hang like this is gonna get thumped anyway.
Don't mind me. I'm just over here, gluing magnets to magnets. As you do.
But now my metal Romans will not fall off the #Midgard bases I made.

I’m just going with the flow in this WIP. No planning, no crossing out, all handwritten. We’ll see where she goes.

This memory of a white, one-shoulder top, with its black, glittery rose from Mark One, early 2000s, has the same smell as queuing for golden, salted fast-food fries a moreish McDonald's magic, crisp and warm, falling out onto trays from red-logoed cardboard packaging. Or the burgundy trousers worn when walking through wet peat and grass on the ground rich and earthy, a natural after-rain concoction released by her footprints. Or remembering her grandma's Estée Lauder, with a gold bow-detailed design on its packaging, different from the stale water in a vase of her flowers at home murky, earthy, forgotten; petals crumpled, dry, falling beside the vase. Or auntie's chemical, strong nail varnish remover, purple in a bottle of circle-shaped pads in a peach-coloured tub, removing all trace of chipped colours. Or the faultless efforts when entering the sharp, clean smell of chlorine of swimming lessons, bravery, certificates, and instructors.
I missed #WednesdayWIP by @thebrokenspine.co.uk, but here is something I’m working on.
