A busy gaming table with the two books of Why We Fight: the Core Game and the Direct Action quick start. There's little character slips for the Freedom Phalanx crew, a mission journal, and a thumbs up from me for an excellent game. Also on the table: stickers from the game with the open hand community alliance logo, a community alliance crew member patch, a paper tablet with a names list on display, and an assortment of dice and writing implements. There's also Austrian beer and a game of Spindlewheel, that didn't make the cut this time.

I finally got Why We Fight to the table. We played a one shot mission from the Direct Action quickstart book - and I gotta say, I was quite impressed.

It takes inspiration from a lot of good and recent design, but it's really doing its own thing.

Very excited that my physical books - and stickers - have shown up for Why We Fight from @sdrgames.bsky.social. I immediately jumped at this Kickstarter. I love that it is a zero prep and GMless gameplay. And what's not to love about being "eco-punks fighting fascism"?

In my family we have a first generation immigrant, a person with autism, an elder that needs medicare & SS, a veteran, and a person with disabilities that technically qualify for ADA accommodation, though they're not requested.
