Rich in H-alpha and oxygen emission, this region is a stellar nursery where radiation and stellar winds actively sculpt the surrounding gas. You are seeing a dramatic snapshot of star formation in action.

image shows the rosette nebula, an HII region that has shells of red gas in circular layers that resemble a rosette around the outside with little nebulosity in the centre. Some people think the shape resembles a human skull. There is a bright star cluster almost in the centre and the whole nebula is surrounded by a black sky and numerous faint stars

I reprocessed my Andromeda image to add in HSO data on top of my LRGB image bringing it back up to the full 32 hours of data. It really highlights the areas of H-Alpha data in red. Bortle 8/9 can't stop me! (at least with M31)

I reprocessed my Andromeda image to only do LRGB. This brings the integration time down from 32 hours to 14.85, but this version is much more true to life and doesn't have a blown out core. Taken from bortle 8-9 skies.
