Stunning astrophotography of the Winter Hexagon asterism over Manla Reservoir in Tibet, China. The image showcases six bright stars—Sirius, Procyon, Rigel, Aldebaran, Capella, and Castor—forming a hexagon with the Milky Way Galaxy traversing its center. The Pleiades star cluster and Orion constellation are also visible. The photo was taken by Jeff Dai.

A breathtaking winter nightscape in Ustupky, Czech Republic. A cozy cottage is nestled amidst snow-covered trees, under a sky ablaze with Geminid meteors streaming from Gemini, the Milky Way, and Orion. Comet Wirtanen's greenish coma is also visible near the Pleiades star cluster.

As a B7 class star toward the cooler end of that class, Elnath shares similar spectral features to a slightly cooler A class star like Vega (A0V) - primarily the deep Hydrogen Balmer absorption lines. The main visible difference with Elnath vs Vega is that the peak of the spectrum shifts farther left here into near UV beyond the blue edge of the spectrum, while Vega's peak is closer to 4000 Angstroms.
