January wins
Sorry. I'm a little late.
Got through a full read through and make long chapters shorter editing pass on the Rose book.
Sent epub copies of Heir to two reviewers.
I'm finally on the Atomacon guest list!
Ate lots of cake last week.

January Wins: I’ve got outlines for five new stories, greatly expanded some worldbuilding notes, and submitted over a dozen poems for an anthology.
Fingers crossed for an acceptance!

Lonesome/Weak setting for MC - Carson has several instances where his loneliness makes him call Noel's shop just to hear her voice. He never says anything because he doesn't want to disrupt her life unnecessarily. It's elation followed by a heavy, lonely feeling each time.

Day 31 of #WritingInJanuary!
I log all my stats every 30th, and I'm *so* encouraged to see modest but steady growth in both my socials and things like my freebie downloads. I've also been so fortunate to have received five ARC reviews this month of four stars or more!
More than that...

31: January wins
- Finished a first draft for a novel (107k words as of now)
- Managed to actually hold a conversation (very fun, I was unsure of my spoken English skills) with my WWP friends
- Made good progress on a new magic system and outline
Day 31. Share your January WIPS.
I edited Monster Realm Short Stories Collection (published TODAY) and worked on the first draft of Skeleton Bride.

I did a lot of worldbuilding in my fantasy series. Got a library card finally. And I didn't die. I call them all wins

I gotta say...Buffer is a life saver. This month have been extremely busy with me last minute deciding to join community theatre, trying to find a new job to escape my current toxic one, and other personal stuff. So, I haven't been super active...but at least posting somewhat 😅
#WritingInJanuary 31: January Wins!
Finished line edits on THE RILL LORD! The book is in the bag.
Launched eARCs of RILL LORD
Saw the amazing cover art!
Received multiple orders for signed sets of the Triempery series. 👀
Made new friends.

The biggest one for me was (finally) getting all the necessary pieces set up for direct sales on my website. Which means I'm officially a business owner with all the fun paperwork that goes with it.😅 (But I think it'll be worth it!)

Day 30 of #WritingInJanuary!
I don't think you could catch Fîeron dead at a gala of any kind. 😂
Day 29 of #WritingInJanuary! (Catchup)
I have an array of antagonists, though most aren't front-and-center in 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐹𝑙𝑒𝑠ℎ; I'd say a modest portion are redeemable (or at least would make for an interesting subplot to try to redeem, even if it ultimately fails).
I can't talk about...

Woe is an embodiment of sorrow and thrives when there’s more of it, so redemption isn’t really on the table. Not making the world a more sorrowful place would be totally contradictory to their nature.
Day 29. Can your villain or antogist be redeemed?
No.

#WritingInJanuary 29. Can your villain be redeemed? In Lawcket's story, there isn't a 1 villain or antag, & Lawcket is desperate to believe that every creature can be redeemed. In Song & Rider's story, I don't really know *what* the villain is, if he's really a person or not, so I don't know.🤷

29: Can your antagonist be redeemed?
My series doesn't have a main antagonist yet, but, for book #3, we have Tenebra, and she sort of doesn't even need redemption. She's not exactly evil. It just happens that her goal opposes the MC's.

Can your villain be redeemed?
If Malcabe wanted to, he could be. Where's the fun in that though?

Carter: Nope. Not at all.
The Master: Not even close
The Sorceress: She had the chance but chose against it. She could have....but her love for the master was too great

#WritinginJanuary 29. One flaw your MC hides from everyone?
Calla tends not to hide things about herself from others. She believes what you see is what you get and she's proud of who she is. She does keep her stress induced anxiety quiet just because she doesn't want it seen as a liability on set
#WritingInJanuary 29
Can your villain/antagonist be redeemed?
The Caein Legacy: Colin is a big no.
The Relics of War: Dranamir acts on behalf of her god. Again, no.
Most of my other books have morally gray "villains," so the answer for them is yes (Hunted, Wraith, & many WIPs)
#WritingInJanuary 29: Can my villain or antagonist be redeemed?
The Triempery series has a few villains/antagonists.
Some can be redeemed, and maybe will be. Some probably can't be, and shouldn't be redeemed. A few want to be redeemed... but most don't see why they should be.

Can your antagonist be redeemed?
No.
I just edited a whole bunch of Wingless scenes and absolutely not. If there was ever anything redeemable in him, it is gone. Buried under a life of cruelty he uses to access his power.
Day 28. Give a lonesome setting your MC felt weak/ vulnerable.
After being forced to marry Mitchel only for him to poison her, letting her die in the library of her Palace, taking her safe place away from her.

#WritingInJanuary 28. Lawcket feels very weak & vulnerable as a prisoner, physically abused & treated like he's property. Probably the setting Rider felt most vulnerable is when he disguised himself as a servant in a palace ruled by a powerful & cruel king. He tends to feel less vulnerable the more alone he is.
