"ANIMAL COMPANIONS ___________ Having an animal companion isn't free. It requires investing xp into a skill named after the specific animal. As the player puts more points into the skill, their relationship deepens. For example, at level 1: The animal has a vague understanding of your intentions and sees you as different from other people. At level 5 (the highest level): The animal will lay down its own life to protect you. They love you with all their heart."
