The controls have been moved to the BOTTOM of the Music window, UNDERNEATH the scroll bars, even! All controls are now in a capsule, which remains the same size, no matter how wide you expand the Music app window. It also prevents the Music app from being any narrower than this capsule (not counting the sidebar).
Controls left to right: shuffle, skip back/rewind, play/pause, skip forward/fast forward, repeat, album art, name/artist/album info, playback progress bar, quality indicator, three-dot menu, lyrics toggle, playlist toggle, AirPlay, volume button (but no volume indication until you click it).

The controls are at the TOP of the Music window, where they have been since time immemorial. Controls are in segments. This area ALSO prevents the Music app from being any narrower than the controls (see previous image), but these controls expand apart in segments to fill the space as the Music app window is enlarged.
Controls left to right: shuffle, skip back, play/pause, skip forward, repeat, album art, quality indicator, name/artist/album info, favorite (star) indicator, playback progress bar below name/artist/etc., volume slider which indicates current volume, AirPlay, lyrics toggle, playlist toggle.

The controls are also at the BOTTOM of the Music window. All controls are also in a capsule, but this capsule will compact and change location if the Music window on iPad is drastically en-smallened.
Controls left to right: shuffle, skip back/rewind, play/pause, skip forward/fast forward, repeat, album art, name/artist/album info, NO playback progress bar, NO quality indicator, three-dot menu, lyrics toggle, playlist toggle, NO AirPlay, NO volume. Some of these things only show up in the full-panel slide-up, just like on an iPhone.
