Teaching Drypoint… Intaglio is a hit so far. I love seeing the students’ facial expressions when they learn use the twisted scribes, Akua inks & print press. I’m always happy to take the inks out, and I am equally happy when we put it up! 🤣 Looking forward to their altered series. #EduSky #apsarts
Japanese-American artist Ruth Asawa was our inspiration for paper sculptures made by my SPED artists. Every aspect of creating and displaying were patiently made by each artist. All students should have their works shown. Equity in public schools means representing all students. #apsarts

Students outside of MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta).
#apsarts #CEP Cultural Experience Project allowed me to take my students to MODA for a fantastic hands-on experience. Students re-imagined a library to elevate literacy engagement to better serve their community and another group redesigned our school parking deck for better inclusivity for all. 🙌🏻🤩
Artist Sway Jones speaks to HS seniors about being a full time artist.
2 40ft murals are being touched up by the conceptual artist. The paint was applied by hundreds of HS students.
Some of the Paint Love crew, the HS art teachers at North Atlanta HS and the conceptual artist, Sway Jones.
A part of the 40ft long mural showing Sway Art + PaintLove signatures.
I cannot wait for these to be installed. Over 800 students collaborated in the different stages of our murals. Sway talked to my AP seniors about the process… In a sea of anxiety, be a source of joy. #apsarts #northatlantaart #edusky #artmatters
I’ve been facilitating a collaboration between our NA visual art department and Paint Love (www.gopaintlove.org ). We’re working with artist Sway Jones, who created an incredible mural design inspired by authentic student, teacher & community feedback. 🎨 #apsarts #northatlantaart #edusky
The ones left behind were donated to the local homeless shelter to bring joy to the community. Win-win. #apsarts #Edusky
On September 26, Vinnik was metwith a congratulatory email announcing that she was a semi-finalist from the Art Renewal Center (ARC) for their 17th International ARC Salon Competition. With Vinnik's promotion into the semi-qual-ifiers tier, she became one of nearly 2000 entries (approx-imately 40% of the nearly 5000 entries received from over 87 countries) to move on to the final round of competition. As stunning as the achievement was in itself, the good-news high hardly ended there: this year, ARC partnered with NASA's Lunar Codex time capsule for the 2024-25 season to contribute artwork from around the world to NASA's Polaris Archive, a multimedia archive that's set to launch to the lunar south pole next September. As proclaimed by NASA & ARC in a joint partnership statement on X, the Lunar Codex mission has been projected to become the largest and most global cultural heritage project of its kind. "It was so surreal to hear for the first time" Vinnik said, "I hoped that all the time I put into my work would result in pay-off, but, the moon? I definitely didn't expect that." North Atlanta-based art instructor Allison Shepard, who serves as Vinnik's current visual arts teacher, has described her vivacity and prodigious skill in her niche as nothing short of extraordinary. "Sarah is a phenomenal artist, completely one of a kind, Shepard said, "this achievement is sure to be one of many in her very near future." Pre-moon-glamor and NASA-chic, Vinnik had already curated an extremely fruitful career for herself as a seasoned visual artist. Despite the saturated competition, Vinnik managed to distinguish herself from her peers via a culmination of various success factors: from proper training via professional art classes to consistent participation in local/ regional showcase events, Vinnik's tireless investment into honing her skills has manifested into an incredibly worthwhile and deserved achievement. That's one small step for Vinnik, one giant leap for NAHS kind!
My NAHS art student is is a semi-finalist to have her original artwork literally sent to the moon on a NASA Lunar Codex mission. I am excited for this kiddo’s future: already landing amongst the stars. ✨ The rendering of her mother was what was chosen. Word to yer Mama. 🙌🏻 🌖 #apsarts #edusky
A large brick raised pit with firewood and a fire burning, and inside of the pit are 60+ handbuilt coil vessels that have been sagger manipulated with combustible materials before being fired. Built by ceramics 1 high school art students in Atlanta, GA.
Ceramics coil vessel saggar pit firing is underway, despite a rainy day in the ATL. Our seniors rebuilt the pit for a CASS project & to accommodate the growth of our ceramic arts program. Leaving a legacy is the best! 🤞🏻Fingers crossed for beautiful results. Teamwork! #EduSky #ITeachArt #apsarts
