Great egret (Ardea alba) in flight

It wasn't as sunny and clear as I hoped, regardless it was a great morning walk and it was the first time I've spotted a Great Egret at #DeSchammer.

北海道で見かけるサギは、白いサギよりも、このアオサギの方が多いです。そこそこ大型なので存在感あります。とまっている時は、だいたいはるか遠方なので、なかなか写真は撮れません。私が見つけられないだけかも。飛んでいる姿を見ることが多いですね。

Great egret wading in lily pad covered water. The egret is white with black legs, has pale yellow eyes and a long, slender, pointed, orange beak. It has some plant material wrapped around it's neck. The lily pad are a dark green and there are 3 white flowers.
