Although there is still uncertainty regarding rainfall amounts associated with this atmospheric river, total rainfall amounts could reach 200 to 300 mm for West Vancouver Island and could reach 80 to 120 mm for Inland Vancouver Island and North Vancouver Island. The rain will ease on Wednesday morning.
Oh whew, the latest Special Weather Statement (00:31 UTC / 17:31 PDT) has lowered the expected rainfall amount for this area from "could exceed 150mm" to "could reach 80 to 120mm". That's around what the last big multi-day one worked out to be

the sky here has turned white, which means i'm now under the leading edge of that beast. Weird track for a Hawaiian AR - it swoops almost all the way into the Gulf of Alaska before U-turning down the coast from the NW. From what i can tell, it'll start getting intense around midnight tmrw #BCStorm
