An update on the fire burning near the Sooke Potholes:
There has been no significant growth over night.
Crews were able to get the fire cooled yesterday, increasing the likelihood they can access it safely today.

As of this morning, there are currently 71 active wildfires across BC, with 5 new starts and 2 declared out in the past 24 hours.
None of the 71 are considered wildfires of note.

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to the August Lake wildfire burning 2.3km from Princeton town centre. Crews are on-site. The fire is aprox. 400 metres from structures.
Please pay close attention to the instructions of the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional District.
