I present 10/10 of the first wave of Care Bear characters. From the original crew that started it all, here's BEDTIME BEAR! So when I started creating my rendition of the character, I wanted to really go all out with the sleep aesthetic, and the first thing I thought of was a messy hairstyle, kind of like the classic Bed Head. I didn't want to go overboard with it because if you do too much, then it just looks like a mess, so I had to figure out the perfect balance between "I just woke up" and "I'm not making it neat." I couldn't wait to get started on the eyes because those were key for me, and I just wanted to make it look like he hasn't slept in weeks, although he has, but he has the appearance of someone who hasn't. The posture and pose were another key thing; I wanted him to be slouching over, his arms dangling, and he looks like he's ready to, like, fall over and just pass out and be out like a light. For his tummy badge, it's pretty much like his original, but I made it simple and cute but kept it true to what the original looked like. As he is, he's nocturnal, but on rare occasions will he get a caring mission in the daytime, but if you're ever looking for him, look no more than within your dreams because when you see him in the daytime, they'll practically sleep anywhere. And there it is, folks. All 10 of the original Care Bears have been created, and wave one is officially completed. I'm super stoked that more will come in the second wave but for now that will have to wait for the time being, stay tuned ;) I want people to see that I have high respect for this IP and give it great quality fanart.
