Anyway I turned on R4 and learned that hibernating bumblebees can breathe underwater. A reseacher found that the hibernating bees which she kept in her fridge had their test tubes flooded and thought they were dead, but it turns out gas exchange - i.e. actual breathing - was taking place. #beefacts
