my theory on tpot 22's epilogue. pencil is stuck on nightmare island, banging on the doors, yelling towards one while futzing around with the console one gave her, near tears. pencil: HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? YOU MADE A PROMISE! YOU SAID THINGS WOULD GET BETTER! TAKE ME BACK! TAKE ME BACK! TAKE ME BACK! we see a dimmed light shining on the ground, and someone jogging. we don't know who it is because we only see their legs. in a fit of rage, pencil destroys the console. its shattered remains are now on the ground. ominous, sparkling, dark blue smoke flies out from the broken console. pencil sighs. pencil: why bother? she lays down on the ground, next to the broken console. pencil: who can hear me anyway? money: i can! pencil looks up over her left shoulder. (we don't see money in the frame. we just hear her voice.) end scene.
