An empty room tells no stories if you don't fill it with life! That was my feeling in this seemingly empty room when I photographed it in black and white. It is in a former hunting lodge, on the left there is a small window divided by square wooden struts, and to the right in the middle of the room is a window with an archway that almost touches the ceiling. It is a doorway to a balcony which reaches down to the parquet floor and is also divided by fine wooden struts. The view to the outside is blocked off by the curtains, so that the sunlight only shines into the room in a mist and highlights the rectangular wall decorations on both sides of the window. It reflects a melancholic mood in this room, but the space prevents the view outside, a visual representation of loneliness.
