Sorry I’m late with this, but here’s my #GoodReadsYearInBooks for 2025!

And boy, did I do a ton of reading! Working my way through my “to-read” list, got a lot of ‘Thursday Murder Club’ in there.

The Subtle Glow Of 2025: Three Books That Taught Me To See The ultimate lesson from these authors is that a writer’s sacred act is to look at the world until it reveals its marrow

Fun And Games by John Patrick McHugh

I loved this book, but I’m not sure I fully enjoyed being back in the mind of a 17 year old boy…

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid. It was free on Spotify and that’s what I can say for it. A plot did emerge out of thin air toward the last third of the book but it was otherwise not a book. #booksof2025 #booksky

#Booksof2025 No18. #SarahJMaas. #KingdomofAsh. Rather epic and breathless. It's great to see strong female characters in a fantasy setting. The writing feels fast; lots of Mills and Boon moments crossed with sub LoTR fluff. Despite reservations about style and plotting in enjoyed it.

A memoir about a career in public affairs at Facebook

Probably read less really good books this year than previous years. But these two are the standout fiction and non-fiction reads of 2025 for me. #booksky #booksof2025

37- 50 years on, this account of climbing the South West face of Everest (or as Peter Boardman called it “one of the last great imperial experiences”) keeps you turning the page to find out more, despite knowing full well they make it to the top. #BookSky💙📚 #BooksOf2025

#Booksof2025 89 - A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog by Dylan Thomas.
A collection of stories based on his childhood and young adulthood in Wales. As a honorary Welshman, I probably should have read this years ago, but instead I've read this copy I found in Zambia a few years ago.
