The Court in #Salem, Massachusetts convened to determine the fate of #BridgetBishop. She was accused of not living a Puritan lifestyle; wearing 'odd clothing' and an 'immoral lifestyle.' She was executed 8 days later, the first of 20 people who were killed in the #SalemWitchTrials.

333 years ago today, Bridget Bishop was brought to Gallows Hill in Salem, MA, where she was hanged after being accused and convicted of practicing witchcraft. Her last words were, "I am innocent."

333 years ago Bridget Bishop was convicted for practicing witchcraft. Almost every time she spoke during her initial testimony, she said, "I am innocent." It's chilling to read it over and over again without anyone taking her seriously.
