Sign outside of the Lone Fir Cemetery in Portland, OR. The sign reads:

—————

WIPE YOUR FEET!
Are you giving ghosts a free ride?

When you walk over their graves, the ghosts who reside there can cling to your shoes, then come off later and haunt where they are unwanted.

Help protect this fragile boundary between the land of the living and the spirits of the dead - don't accidentally introduce invasive ghosts.

PLEASE USE GHOST BRUSH BEFORE LEAVING THE CEMETERY

Thank you,

Photo of some stickers and/or wheat paste paste ups on the side of a utility box. The main sticker/paste up is an anthropomorphic chicken like creature, that has human legs with pants and boots on, a curly orange tail, a yellow egg-shaped body, an orange beak, and a yellow spiked Mohawk. It has sunglasses on and is wearing a headband with red, white, blue stars on it. In it’s right hand, it is holding and electric guitar, in it’s left hand is raised in the “Rock On”/devil horns gesture.

Above is is a small sticker with a face wearing a mask like the one Anthony Hopkins wears in Silence of the Lambs (designed for prisoners to prevent them from biting people). It has 3 black spikes of hair on an otherwise bald head. In its hand, it is holding a bloody heath, and its face has some blood on it. Around it, it says “Long”, “Gone” and “Rek”.

Both artist are unknown. Photo taken on March 11th, 2019 in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR.

Can’t tell from the photo if this was giant #sticker or a really clean #pasteup, either way it’s really awesome. The “Long Gone Rek” sticker above is is great too. Both artists unknown. Photo from March 11th, 2019, in #Buckman neighborhood of #PortlandOR #StreetArt #StickerArt #stickers #Portland

A pink background sticker with black lines affixed to the pole of a street sign. It depicts the head and neckline of someone wearing a vintage style gas mask and space/hazmat suit. At the bottom of the hose is the number “13” written on the tube. They are wearing an aviator style helmet/skullcap that also says “13” on it. What you can see of their face behind the mask (eyes and brow line) has many curved parallel lines, giving them an almost mummified/inhuman like appearance. There are tubes connecting from the side of the mask down into the chest region on the suit they are wearing. Artist unknown. Found in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR on February 10th, 2019.

Mural painted on an abandoned laundromat that depicts what appears to be tsunami or violent ocean with what looks like the combination of a modern front part of aTriMet MAX train front with a historic Portland streetcar from the early to mid 1900s as the remainder of the train. This vehicle is now floating, off track, in the middle of this giant wave of water. In the windows of the passenger part of the car you can see reflections of Victorian style homes it is passing by. Also in the water, are a giant rubber duck (far left), a giant corked purple glass bottle that appears to contain a note (left center), and a few houses floating away (surrounding the bottle). Not pictured in this shot (see second photo), the adjacent dumpster hutch extends the mural further with a tugboat and some waves. Artist unknown. Photos taken on November 3rd, 2020 in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR

Last photos of I have of the laundromat #murals, this one is easily my favorite (with no offense to the other artists, of course). Sadly, I didn’t get better shots of it. Taken in #Buckman neighborhood of #PortlandOR on November 3rd, 2020. #StreetArt #graffiti #Portland #TriMet

Vacant laundromat and dumpster hutch that’s been spray painted over with a large mural. On the main building is giant silver words written in heavily stylized text, so stylized that I can’t understand it. In the center is the head of a green skinned man, with bright red hair that is narrowly slicked back across his head and stands of his hair wisp down the sides of his face and hang near his ears. Across the bridge of his nose is a bandaid. Instead of eyes, he has a red single pane visor with a black bezel. He appears to be wearing a spike shouldered jacket. Photo taken in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR on July 3rd, 2019. Artist(s) unknown.

Former laundromat building and dumpster hutch now covered in a massive mural and heavily stylized words that are either tagger names or saying something, I cannot read most of their text, but in tiny print near the middle of the main building it says “Ain’t No Thang”. It is compromised mostly with purple colors with accents on red, orange, green, black, and white. On the main building is the text. On the dumpster hutch is a mural that is semi-organic looking, almost like bundles muscle tissue or colored cords, wrapped around multiple nodes that are in a horizontal line. Lots of big swoops of purple, red, and black. Hard to describe further. Artists unknown.

This former laundromat in the #Buckman neighborhood of #PortlandOR sat empty for almost a decade. It had several iterations of #graffiti and #murals on it over the years. Here’s the first one I encountered, on December 23rd, 2018. I’ll post a few others soon. #StreetArt #Portland

A mural that recently showed up at the corner of Burnside and 28th ave, an apparent portmanteau of the street name Burnside and the adjacent neighborhood, Kerns. Technically, the other 3 corners of this intersection are Kerns, and the corner this is painted on is the Buckman neighborhood. Artist unknown. Photo taken on March 22nd, 2025 in Portland, OR.

“Welcome To #Kernside District”. Fun #mural that popped up on the side of the temporarily closed #50Licks shop at 28th and Burnside. To be pedantic, the other 3 corners of the intersection are #Kerns neighborhood, and this corner is #Buckman. Dig the #portmanteau regardless. #PortlandOR #Portland

Street art sticker depicting Marshall Applewhite, the founder and leader of the Heaven’s Gate cult. Over each of his shoulders is a picture of a UFO and Comet Hale-Bopp, in reference to their belief that the comet was a UFO and they could become immortal extraterrestrial beings if they committed ritual suicide as the comet passed close to the Earth in 1997. They believed that the comet would carry their soul after the death, allowing them to ascend to heaven as a new evolved beings. The art also depicts a large Nike swoosh logo on his chest, along with the numbers “6197” in Nike’s font. The swoosh is reference to them infamously all found to be wearing new Nike Decades after their deaths. Unclear what 6197 is in reference to. Along the bottom is a banner that says “nofutura” in old English, which is the name of the artist. Found in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland, OR on August 9th, 2017
