Much of what made #BuffyTheVampireSlayer special was that it was already “woke” before that word became a culture war weapon. It used monsters as metaphors for growing up, trauma, identity, belonging. It trusted the audience to understand.
Given the climate I wonder if Hulu was scared of the label
