Although the carbon-aware computing approach has helped to raise awareness, and generated efficiency gains, so far it has not really considered the systemic picture of achieving global net zero. Useful dialogue is emerging under the term “grid-aware computing,” but there still remains a gap when it comes to joining up individual organisational strategies with the bigger picture.
