Page 9. The boat rides underneath a stone arch that seems to resemble the Calistro Corporation logo, though not completely. Maybe it was the inspiration? In the distance, we finally see the island. LANCE: Welcome to Latibulo.
Page 10. Pierre steps out of the boat, then turns around to see Kayla, struggling to get all of her suitcases free... at once. That seems ill-advised. PIERRE: Here, lemme help. KAYLA: Nah, I got it! Suddenly she gets the purple bag free... and is falling backwards. KAYLA: Woah! She topples over backwards, the bags all landing on her. Pierre looks at her, dazed on the ground. PIERRE: …How bout now? KAYLA: I’ll take the help now, thanks.
Page 11. Pierre is now helping pick up the bags. PIERRE: How’d you fill so many bags for such a short trip? KAYLA: Oh Pierre, Pierre, Pierre… A traveler’s gotta be ready for any weather. Dresses, swimwear, snow jackets, jam jams… The duo begin following Lance, up the stairs and through a tunnel. PIERRE: Wait - hold up, you brought winter outfits too? KAYLA: Well yeah, what if it snowed here? PIERRE: It’s a tropical island! And June! KAYLA: But if it DID snow, wouldn’t you look silly! You’d be all like “Brrr I’m soooo cold! If ooonly I’d brought a nice sweater… Now I’m gonna freeze…” PIERRE: I guess I can’t argue with that. Lance clears his throat to get their attention.
Page 12. They now stand before a large building. LANCE: Ahem… this is the Calistro Campus. Many of our employees choose to stay at this facility, rather than commute from Crimson City. PIERRE: Woah... talk about a sweet place to live!
Page 5. In the flashbacks, we skip ahead a bit, to 10th grade. Keith is hanging out at a bench under the stairs in the hallway. Kayla holds up a magazine in front of him, showing a tokusatsu team: Comet Force, from the series Comet Force Y. KAYLA Heya Keith! Can you draw us in costumes like these? Keith pushes her away lightly. KEITH …I already told you, didn’t I? …I don’t draw for free.
Page 6. KAYLA C’mon, can’t you make an exception? Prettttttty please? KEITH No. KAYLA You’re no fun. … I’ll buy you a cookie at lunch tomorrow. Deal? Keith stares blankly. KAYLA Finnnne, fine. I’ll cover your lunches for the next… 2… yeah, 2 weeks. Fair? KEITH Sigh… okay, lemme see those.
Page 7. We cut ahead to Pierre’s birthday, shortly before the start of the series. He opens a gift from Kayla. It’s a motorcycle helmet. PIERRE Woah, sick! KAYLA I had it custom made to look like a classic Hero helmet! Just imagine how cool you’ll look when you get the bike! It’ll be like “Who’s that mysterious hero!?”
Page 8. PIERRE Heh… you’re still hangin’ on to that dream too, huh? KAYLA Of course! Don't get me wrong, workin' at the cafe is fine and all. It’s… it’s nice, getting to feel normal for once… but a girl’s still gotta daydream! PIERRE I know what you mean. Like yeah, the whole hero thing isn’t realistic. But… even so, I don’t wanna let go of that sense of whimsy. My mind still races whenever I see a sick ride at the shop. Heroic entrances, sick tricks… It’s a fun dream, just for that fleeting moment… but then, it’s back to work. LANCE We’re here. We cut back to the modern day, on the boat.

Page 1. We open on a flashback of an old show Pierre watched. A colorful team of heroes faces off against a monster. PIERRE (Narration): Back when I was a kid… it was all so simple. Good VS Evil. Heroes. Villains.
Page 2. At lunch one day in sixth grade, the kids talk about their dreams for the future. KID 1: A hero!? What kind of dream is that!? KID 2: Come on, Pierre, pick something realistic! PIERRE: Dude, you’re tellin’ me you wouldn’t wanna look cool and fight big monsters!? KID 3: But heroes don’t exist! Those shows are so stupid. KID 2: No one could fight in those dumb costumes.
Page 3. The kids wander off. Pierre continues his lunch, disappointed. PIERRE: It’s not dumb, it’s awesome… KAYLA: Hey, you were talking’ about the Comet Force, right? PIERRE: …Yeah. KAYLA: D-did you know my papa works on that show? PIERRE: No way, for real!?
Page 4. KAYLA: Yeah! He does the stunts for Gold. All the show’s stunt people were scouted from Smash Time! PIERRE: T-that’s so cool! KAYLA: Mmmhmm! He’s like a real hero! So don’t give up on your dream! Who knows? Maybe someday, we really could be heroes!
