Topping up the Chenin levels while packing my bag for Bordeaux. This has no declared vintage, but the lot number tells me it is 2010. At 15 years it is evolved, toasty, bitter and bone dry (with a touch of oxidation to the development). Delicious! #francoischidaine #montlouis #chenin #cheninblanc
Bought this well over 12 years ago at the Domaine d'Orfeuilles just north of #Vouvray village. A simple wine in its youth it is now a complex dry tropical fruit, tinned mandarin delight with light oak influence and that gorgeous acidity of a #Loire #Chenin.

Stellenrust barrel fermented chenin is not subtle...it smacks you in the face with tropical fruit salad and woody vanilla... was on offer in Tescos. Bloody delicious but as I said not at all subtle! Much better than the cheaper chenin without the silver shield!
