qemu mac99, booted into mac os, the about window shows Mac OS on CHRP - System Software 7.0, underneath the about window is the dir listing of the System 7.0 CD

well that wasn't hard after the work to get 7.1.x booting. system 7.0 predates enablers, so patching the boot2/boot3 resources in from 7.1 gets it to boot with the enabler

well, I think it’s more or less OK to release. you may have issues on your hardware, but these patched TBXIs at least try to boot whatever you throw at it, 7.5 onwards up to whatever it’s supposed to boot…

very hacky and your mileage may vary, but now you too can try to boot 7.5 or 7.6 or 8.1 […]

the system enabler in chrp 7.6 has a version check in boot3

by patching out the version check you can potentially go lower

search for `0C 50 07 60 65 08 08 38 00 02 0B 20` replace with `0C 50 07 60 4E 71 08 38 00 02 0B 20`

hfs standard formatted partition
system folder from 7.6 chrp copied over
mac os rom fron imac 8.1 copied in

In the off chance you want to switch iMovie 2 (2001) to PAL from NTSC on MacOS 9, navigate to MacHD -> System Folder -> Preferences -> iMovie Preferences and edit the text file from NTSC to PAL. #MacOS9 #iMovie2 #VintageMac #ClassicMacOS #PAL #NTSC #Macintosh #RetroComputing #Apple
