Purportedly a 14th-century depiction of Titivillus, the demon responsible for scribal errors. The picture shows a man in monastic habit standing behind a desk. A book lies open in front of the man, a scribal kit to its right. He is holding a quill pen, writing on the page. On the other side of the desk, a short-statured, winged and furry demon stands, extending their right claw towards the book. A clerical error is about to occur.
Before heading off for a Saturday event, here is an obviously garbled recipe from the 15th-century Dorotheenkloster MS.
