A Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus) was standing on the edge of a concrete birdbath with head raised to swallow water in Norman, Oklahoma, United States on January 23, 2025. The bird bath is heated to prevent the water from freezing and wildlife had already consumed most of the water. All other nearby water was frozen. I filled the birdbath after making this photo.
