Fucking colour coding. All those bloody traffic and roadwork maps use traffic light colours or similar to indicate road status

Which is literally useless to several percent of their damn users

Links and button states all need to be visible and have sufficient colour contrasts for users to navigate a site. An example shows links with dark hover states compared to pale ones which are difficult to see, along with underlining link text and putting it in a high contrasting colour to make it more visible. Colour blind users may not see certain shades of colour, so it is vital not to replace words with colour. Instead, always use meaningful text labels or icons.

The use of inclusive colours on sites is crucial. Without considering how they are presented visually or within written content can shut out people with #ColourBlindness from navigating or accessing your content altogether.

Colour combinations to avoid using: It is not true that people with colour blindness only struggle to see red and green colour combinations. Also avoid colour combinations like: green and brown, blue and purple, green and blue, green and black, light green and yellow, blue and grey, green and grey. Meeting with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines ensures sites are inclusive for all users. Relevant success criterion is: 1.4.1 Use of Colour, 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast, 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum

Placeholder text should provide clarity and have sufficient contrast. With error messaging, do not use colour to highlight an issue. Instead, labels are required and you can incorporate visual elements like icons. An example shows what to avoid on a form, displaying an error message that is highlighting a wrong password using just the colour red. A forgotten password link underneath is not underlined so you can't tell it is a hyperlink, and a sign in button is in a low contrast

These colour plots are hopeless for colorblind people. The legend on the right look like randomly generated colours. There's no smooth gradation between only two colors, and some colours look like others which aren't adjacent. #colourblindness

Collette Carrigan
It's for the colourblind red and green
looks the same color to who is colourblind

Shane Hughes
Collette Carrigan Complete nonsense. Wales wear red shirts and shorts and Ireland wear green shirts and white shorts. Solves the problem.

Dermot Devlin
Shane Hughes Do you understand anything about colourblindness?

Shane Hughes
Dermot Devlin Enough to know that changing the shirts is disproportionate

Shane Hughes Tell that to the 12% of the Irish population you want to exclude from enjoying the game, all because you want
a green jersey.

Shane Hughes
Dermot Devlin Do those people want to ruin snooker as well?

Dermot Devlin
Shane Hughes I understand who you are and what your character is now. So I will no longer be indulging your "l'm alright Jack!" outlook on life.

Dermot Devlin I will no longer indulge your "I am offended, therefore I am" outlook

I'm tried of ableism in all it's forms.

Yesterday Irish Rugby wore white against their 6 Nations game against Wales to make it more accessible for those who are colourblind.

Didn't stop jerks on JOE.ie's Facebook comments belittling and mocking the efforts.

When colour is not presented accessibly, it can create barriers to learning, understanding, safety, and overall achievement 😞
