Links and button states all need to be visible and have sufficient colour contrasts for users to navigate a site. An example shows links with dark hover states compared to pale ones which are difficult to see, along with underlining link text and putting it in a high contrasting colour to make it more visible. Colour blind users may not see certain shades of colour, so it is vital not to replace words with colour. Instead, always use meaningful text labels or icons.
The use of inclusive colours on sites is crucial. Without considering how they are presented visually or within written content can shut out people with #ColourBlindness from navigating or accessing your content altogether.

Placeholder text should provide clarity and have sufficient contrast. With error messaging, do not use colour to highlight an issue. Instead, labels are required and you can incorporate visual elements like icons. An example shows what to avoid on a form, displaying an error message that is highlighting a wrong password using just the colour red. A forgotten password link underneath is not underlined so you can't tell it is a hyperlink, and a sign in button is in a low contrast
