The Hunyadi Castle seen from northwest at entrance to the wooden bridge above the moat. The Corvin Castle ( Hunyadi Castle) is a Gothic-Renaissance castle in Hunedoara county, Romania. It was built in the 15th century over the site of an older fortification by the Hunyadi family, and it was one of the most important properties of John Hunyadi, the famous Governor of the Hungarian Kingdom, who led the Christian allies to victory against the Ottomans at the siege of Belgrade in 1456. The castle is a large and imposing structure with tall towers, bastions, an inner courtyard, diversely colored roofs, and lots of windows and balconies adorned with stone carvings. The Corvin Castle nowadays is restored and open museum to visitors. Framed art print.
