In honor of #cosplaytutorialchallenge, I am going to be making a text thread of how I make my makeup last for all con! I personally tend to commute to cons, so I do not have the ability to go to my hotel room and touch up makeup. Instead, I make sure that my makeup is secure for the day!
My entry for the #cosplaytutorialchallenge and my very first tutorial is unsurprisingly a prop. Enjoy!
Socks That Won't Slip by Gutenmorby
MATERIALS • Your socks • a pair of leggings that fit you well • powermesh fabric (nude) • spandex fabric (any color) • thread (nude and matching your socks) • pins • marking tools • paper for a pattern • sewing machine and/or serger • stretch needles • scissors
BEFORE WE BEGIN: • I will be using a serger and a sewing machine but these can be made with only a sewing machine • If using a sewing machine, use a zigzag or other stretch stitch. Every machine is different but I like a medium length and width. If using a serger, TAKE YOUR PINS OUT BEFORE THEY HIT THE BLADE! Otherwise, they may shatter and hurt you and/or damage your serger.
First, try on your socks over your leggings. Decide where you want the socks to hit and mark it on your leggings. I used pins but you may also use chalk, a pen, etc.
